High Flow Multi-Media Water Filter

Our Multi-Media Filter is a high-efficiency depth filtration system designed for superior solid particle removal in industrial water pretreatment. Unlike single-media filters, it utilizes a stratified bed of three or more filtration media-typically anthracite, sand, and garnet-with carefully graded particle size and density. This layered configuration creates an optimal "in-depth" filtration effect, delivering higher flow rates, longer service cycles, and significantly finer filtration compared to conventional sand filters.
 
Working principle:
The multi-media filter operates on the principle of depth filtration and graded particle bedding. It utilizes a layered bed of filtration media (typically anthracite, sand, and garnet) arranged in order of decreasing pore size and increasing density from top to bottom. During service, water flows downward through this bed, where suspended solids are progressively trapped within different layers based on particle size. When the pressure drop across the bed exceeds a set limit, the system initiates an automated backwash cycle, where upward flow of water fluidizes and expands the media bed, scrubbing trapped contaminants loose and carrying them to drain, thus restoring the filter's capacity.

• Superior Depth Filtration: Employs a multi-layer bed (e.g., anthracite, sand, garnet) arranged in order of decreasing pore size and increasing specific gravity. This allows larger particles to be trapped in the upper layers and finer particles in the lower layers, achieving high-efficiency removal of particles down to 5-10 microns.

• High Dirt Holding Capacity: The graded media bed utilizes the entire depth of the filter, allowing it to hold a significantly larger amount of suspended solids before requiring backwashing. This results in longer filtration cycles and reduced water waste for backwashing.

• Stable Media Segregation & Efficient Backwash: The different media are selected for their distinct densities, ensuring they naturally re-stratify into separate layers after each backwash cycle. This prevents media mixing and guarantees consistent, optimal performance cycle after cycle.

• Robust & Corrosion-Resistant Construction: The pressure vessel is constructed from carbon steel with epoxy lining or SS304/316 stainless steel, ensuring long-term durability and resistance to corrosion under high operating pressures.

• Fully Automatic Operation: The system is equipped with an automatic multi-port valve and a PLC-based control system. It initiates a self-cleaning backwash cycle based on either a pre-set time or a differential pressure trigger, ensuring hands-off operation and consistent effluent quality.
